CAD I - (10 days) Basic
training for Computer Aided Design. Even the most daring
CAD wizard started with a solid foundation of skills.
Learn to use curves and surfaces to make 3d solid objects.
Use the four basic construction techniques to create rings,
pendants, and earrings. Learn to add gemstones to your
creation, and render photo-realistic images of your three
dimensional designs. Finally, gain an understanding of
how machines can produce a wax model of your CAD design,
ready for production. This class is taught in Gemvision
Matrix which is based on Rhino 3D. |
CAD II - (10
days) Intermediate training for the CAD designer.
Increase your skills with more complex construction
techniques. Incorporate channel set gemstones into
your designs, and master the difficult bead-and-bright
cut setting style. Create more complex jewelry,
including bracelets and necklaces, and learn advanced
rendering techniques. This class is taught in Gemvision
Matrix which is based on Rhino 3D. |

| CAD/CAM III -
(13 days) Advanced CAD training.
Complete your skills with advanced construction techniques,
like the demanding pave setting style. Create custom lighting,
materials, and backgrounds to produce spectacular renderings.
Find out how to enter your designs into competition Gain
an understanding of new techniques for creating 3D objects
from photos or drawings. Learn to carry a motif through
an entire set of jewelry for the beginning of a designer
line. This class is taught with Gemvision Matrix, Rhino
3D, and the latest rendering software. |
During the last section the focus
will be on CAM (CNC Milling). Increase your productivity
and reduce turn-around time by creating a wax model of
your design. Gain an understanding of the software that
converts CAD files to CAM, and learn to avoid common mistakes.
To optimize learning in the CAM course, classes are broken
into groups of 5 or less. One group will run Mon-Tues-Weds,
the second group runs Thurs-Fri-Sat. |
